Standard Form = Base Ten Numerals

Word Form = Number Name

Place is the position (i.e. tens or hundredths)
Value is the worth (i.e. 30 or .08)

We will work on number sense. For instance, how many ways can you describe the number 167?
100 + 60 + 7
167 ones
16.7 tens
1.67 hundreds
16.7 X 10
1.67 X 100 or 1.67 X** 102
This is just a few to start!!!!

        • Students also need to understand the relationship between each place.
For instance, it takes 10 ones to make a ten and one is 1/10 of ten.
it takes 10 hundredths to make a tenth and one hundredth is 1/10 of a tenth.**

        • Powers of 10:
